Apparently I am pretty terrible at this blogging stuff. I rarely add new posts and when I do they seem to be about some random topics. I actually just had my baby, yes I was pregnant, and I’m now thinking about trying to blog consistently. I figure I have some new factors in my life that will give me some incentive to blog about topics that relate to each other.
Here is the little man who came into the world on November 22, 2009, Caleb Joshua Gomes. He may just end up being my consistent blog topic, as I know I will have a lot to say about him! He is so precious and we couldn’t be happier. If somebody told me a year ago that I would be a mother soon I probably would have laughed at them, but I would not have it any other way. It still hasn’t completely sunk in that I truly am a mom, it’s amazing. I love how my life is turning out and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for our family.

Throughout the last few months I have been amazed to discover what people can make a profit off of. You really can sell “anything” these days. Take for instance the woman who now makes more than $40,000 a year off of tumbleweeds she collects from her backyard. How ridiculous is that??? People go to work 40 hours a week throughout the year and many barely make $25,000, yet this woman goes into her backyard and sells tumbleweeds for $40,000 a year. Read more about it here: http://www.switched.com/2007/11/27/woman-finds-accidental-success-selling-tumbleweeds-online/
Another person I discovered is selling unique brown paper lunch bags on a website on the internet. Brown paper lunch bags!?!?! I would give you the link but I do not endorse this nonsense. I mean come on people you throw the damn paper bags away after you eat your lunch yet you’d like to pay 10 times the price for one that says “GET IN MAH BELLY”.
I’m not really sure what the world is coming to anymore but I do know this, it’s time to get with the program. I know I am because I’m headed out to my backyard right now to bottle up some dirt. Let me know if you’re interested it’s going for $3.50 a bottle

Four weeks later I am already on the 4th book in the twilight series. I can honestly say that this is the fastest I have read through any books in my entire life. I mean normally a 600 page book would take me a few weeks but the second book took me a little less than 48 hours. I’m hooked and sadly this will be the last book until the author decides to publish another one, and I’m hopeful this will happen.
I was also browsing the internet and came across these video clips that are a sneak peek into the “New Moon” movie that is coming out in November. Honestly I never think that movies compare to the story told by the book . I feel that the books are much more involved and using your imagination makes it more enjoyable. I did still enjoy the first movie though and I’m sure I will like “New Moon”.

So after years of driving around in my dreaded mini hearse (aka PT Cruiser, no offense to those who like them), I finally bought myself a new car. I mean it is not “new” per say, but it is new to me and I LOVE it. A beautiful dark red Mazda6. I used more gas than I should have yesterday but I’m just enjoying the car a bit too much I suppose.

So I know I’ m a little late on this but since I finally have some spare time this summer I decided to start reading the Twilight series. I’m about half way into the first book and I love it. I happened to see the movie this past spring and found it enjoyable further leading me to read the books. I know the next movie comes out in a few months so I hope I can read the second book before going to see it. I forgot how much I really love leisure reading because it has been so long since I’ve been able to do some. Normally I only do my leisure reading during the summers because of classes but now that I’m done with classes (hopefully forever), I have plenty of time to do reading I actually enjoy and I am definitely looking forward to it. Next on my list “New Moon”. I want to get this one read before the movie comes out. Usually the books are always better than the movies anyways so I don’t want to movie to ruin my reading experience, although it hasn’t done that too much with my current reading of Twilight.

Summer so far.. very different from all the others and I’m not just talking about the consistent rain that has swept over Connecticut, talk about depressing. Waking up to gray clouds and rain on a daily basis can really get to you after a while. I am in serious need of some Vitamin D. Thankfully this weekend was beautiful and now starts another week of dreary, rainy, depression.
On the bright side, no pun intended, Josh and I have been apartment hunting for the past week or so and… drumroll please… we have narrowed it down to two places. This means we will be finally moving into our own place within the next few weeks and I couldn’t be happier about it.

Within the next couple days we will know where we’re going.
Aside from this we have both graduated and secured full time jobs, mine starts in August and Josh started last week. Life is really looking up for us. Our trip to California was a success and we looked at several Law Schools out there. Next year we may be new members of the West Coast (I’ll keep my fingers crossed). I am really excited for the future and life post college has really turned out great. Now all I need is the sun to show itself every once in a while

Okay so the only trip I will probably be making this summer is to California and it’s only 5 days away! I’ve never been there so I’m super excited and looking forward to the beautiful weather. Josh needs to look at Law Schools and I need… a vacation! It all works out quite perfectly. We will be visiting Los Angeles, Malibu, Sacramento, San Francisco, and who knows where else. Most of our time will be spent in LA though, can’t go to Cali and miss out on the possible celebrity sitings right!
And the beaches are a must so we’re going to take a trip to Malibu.
We’ll be staying for about a week, which seems like a lot of time now but once we get there I bet it will fly by. It will be great though because in a year there is a possibility of us moving out there, and if I LOVE it then for the next year I will have something to look forward to!

Cassie Ventura has always been a singer I enjoy to listen to but lately I’m unsure of what she is thinking (maybe she just isn’t thinking at all). It’s always great to be bold and to make a statement, whether it’s of fashion or anything else, but crazy hair is always a risky endeavor. Needless to say, although she seems a little “out to lunch” with this style, she still looks gorgeous. She would probably look great even if she shaved it all off, go figure…
